Developing your own Theme-Based Curriculum: Create from materials you already have for children 2 years to pre-K ” 2 hrs Developmentally Appropriate Practice.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome: This 2.0 clock hour course covers what causes Fetal alcohol Syndrome, possible effects on a child, and what child care professionals can do to assist the child. There are links to other resources online within the course. At the end you will be required to submit a 500 word essay about what you learned in the course and how you could put this knowledge into practice in working with children. 2 hours credit in Health and Safety.
Interviews, Policy Handbook, Contract & Forms This is a 3 hour course that provides you with a contract, policy handbook and forms that some child care inspectors are recommending to providers with inadequate materials. Learn to use this document during the Interview, how to evaluate your home from the parents point of view, & changes you need to address to attract clients. The files are available for download online for those taking the online course. 1 hr Developmentally Appropriate Practice 2 hrs Professionalism.

Recognizing Child Abuse & Neglect Ways to protect yourself & family from charges of abuse, how to recognize child abuse, the caregiver’s responsibility to report suspected abuse. 2 hrs Health & Safety.
Stress Management for Caregivers & Children: Caring for you so you can care for others. Includes recognizing childhood stress & “Managing Stress, Workplace Training”, American Red Cross (used with permission). 2 hrs Health & Safety.
Training Up A Child: Tips on toilet training and other do it yourself lessons for young children such as Shoe Tying. 2 hr. in Developmentally Appropriate Practice.
Understanding Child Behaviors: This class looks at child development, temperament, management techniques for children with difficult traits such as Tantrums, Biting, Physically Aggressive Children and How to Discipline with Love. 1 hr. A CareGiver Network is a non-profit member organization founded for the purpose of offering support and training to all child care professionals who work with young children. Our membership is comprised of Child Care Workers including family child care, center owners and workers, and nannies. We believe that both a strong support foundation and continuing education lead to the development of quality child care professionals.
